GUYS PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ONE I WILL MEDAL Use function notation to represent and evaluate functions. 1._tia created a function that any word as input and gave the third letter of that word for an output. Complete the following statements. a) T(apple)= b) T(orange)= c) T( )= d) T( )= e) create your own example

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

So T is a function. If you input a word into the function, the third letter of the word is the output. For example if I input "math" into the function T, I get the output "t" as "t" is the third letter of the word "math". So what function notation is, is that I put the input in the brackets of T. So for example, T(math) means that the word "math" is the input into the function T. What T(math) is equal to, is the output of the function when given the input "math" which is "t". So T(math)=t. Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (cammy01):

little

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

Can you explain to me what you understand then?

OpenStudy (cammy01):

input you put what ever you want

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

And what do you get as output, for this particular function T?

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

For this particular function T, the input are words :)

OpenStudy (cammy01):

ok

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

So do you understand what to do now? Or are you still unclear about things? If you are, do you know what you still don't understand?

OpenStudy (cammy01):

i know my friend explain and thank you i have to do other hw
