OpenStudy (jacky90):

Two cyclists leave towns 180mi apart at the same time and travel toward each other. One cyclist travels 8 mi/h faster than the other. If they meet in 5 hours, what is the rate of each cyclist?

OpenStudy (darkprince14):

note that rate = distance/time let x be the travel rate of the slower cyclist. The faster cyclist would have the travel rate x+8.Note that once they meet each other, which is after 5 hours, the sum of the distance the two cyclists have covered would be 180 mi.
