OpenStudy (loser66):

What does "3 units back?"

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

well it means that how much it goes on one of the axis

OpenStudy (loser66):

yup, hence if x =0 at the beginning, then after "3 units back", what is it now?

OpenStudy (loser66):

|dw:1459471534560:dw|

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

sorry my computer crashed for a couple mins

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

-3

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

is that right

OpenStudy (loser66):

Yes, but first off, you need reflect all points against xz plane by using formula \(T(x,y, z)= (x,-y,z) \) For example, for the first point (0,5,4), after reflected against xz plane, what do you have now ?

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

ok this right (0, -5, 4) (-2, -7, 4) (0, -7, 4) (0, -7, 6)

OpenStudy (loser66):

yup, now, just pick the first one to do (0,-5,4) move back x -3 move left y -2 move up, z +4 what do you have?

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

(-3, -7, 8)

OpenStudy (loser66):

yup, I think so. Do the same with others.

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

(-5, -9, 8)

OpenStudy (loser66):

It is easy now, you do, I trust you.

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

(-3, -9, 8 )

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

(-3, -9, 10)

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

is that all correct

OpenStudy (loser66):

I think so

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

so what do i do next

OpenStudy (loser66):

Done

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

but do i say the rule is

OpenStudy (loser66):

as above, -3 for x, -2 for y, +4 for z

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

ok thx btw if you have the time could you help me with one last question

OpenStudy (loser66):

I am very busy now, but if it easy and I can answer without spending much time, I can try

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

ok well it cant be that hard for you

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

OpenStudy (loser66):

Nope, don't say that. Maths is hard for everybody.

OpenStudy (skittles_for_life6422):

:) aww thx

OpenStudy (loser66):

the solid result is a cylinder. the key dimensions is the height of the cylinder is the length of the rectangle, the radius of the cylinder (need see the pic to answer)
