The coordinate plane below represents a city. Points A through F are schools in the city.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part A: Using the graph above, create a system of inequalities that only contain points B and C in the overlapping shaded regions. Explain how the lines will be graphed and shaded on the coordinate grid above. (5 points) Part B: Explain how to verify that the points B and C are solutions to the system of inequalities created in Part A. (3 points) Part C: Lisa can only attend a school in her designated zone. Lisa's zone is defined by y > 2x + 5. Explain how you can identify the schools that Lisa is allowed to attend. (2 points)

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

Part A also or from Part B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

part a through c i need help with

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

Can you draw line y =2x+5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2.5,0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that right?

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

No I asked can you draw the line y=2x+5 on the graph you have shown?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh o dont know how to do that

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

Can you figure out two points that will lie on the line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b, and c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Kainui can you please help i have been stuck on this for a long time

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

No I mean two points that will lie on the line y= 2x+5 For instance when x = 0--> y =2(0)+5 -->y = 5-->so a point (0,5) will lie on the line. Can you figure out any other point that will lie on a line. Hint x=3 then y=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0?

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

y =2x+5 y = 2(3)+5 y= ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

Yes now can you find out what's the value of y when x = -3?

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

You kinda have to respond fast because I have to go

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have been on this one damn question for 2 hours now i really need to get this done can someone help me please?
