OpenStudy (welshfella):
the lateral area is the area of the 4 vertical faces.
area of each of these = length * width
OpenStudy (welshfella):
there are 2 of area 5 * 8
and 2 of area 5* 22

i still didnt get the answer
OpenStudy (welshfella):
can you multiply 5 and 8 ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thats 40
OpenStudy (welshfella):
ok and theres 2 of these so that's an area of 80 cm^2
and the other 2 faces have area 5 * 22
can you work out the area of these 2 faces.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
5*22=110

OpenStudy (welshfella):
ok now multiply that by 2 because there are 2 faces with this same area
OpenStudy (anonymous):
220
OpenStudy (welshfella):
right now all you have to do is add 80 and 220 and you have the answer
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so the answer is D
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Thank you so much
