*PLEASE HELP!* I WILL FAN AND MEDAL IN RETURN A football is kicked toward a goal post that is 10 feet high. The path of the football is modeled by the graph of y = -0.005x^2 + 0.6x where x and y are measured in feet. On a coordinate plane, the x-axis represents the ground, and the ball leaves the ground at the origin. The ball hits the goal post on the way down. How far from the goal post is the kicker? Explain.
I think what you have to do is find y when x=10 by plugging 10 into the equation. You get 5.5. Then you find the distance (10, 5.5) from the origin.
For the distance, you use the distance formula or the Pythagorean theorem.
I don't know anything about that, this is from an Algebra I textbook. I believe what you're telling me is from Geometry.
I'm referring to your second post.
