OpenStudy (love_to_love_you):

OpenStudy (love_to_love_you):

does a template like this help? http://sites.csn.edu/istewart/mathweb/math127/hyperbolas/images/hyper1.gif

OpenStudy (love_to_love_you):

Considering I don't understand any of this, no :/

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

You'd definitely be better off starting over from scratch if that doesn't look familiar. You could find the transverse axis by just plotting the given foci, and drawing a line through them, to see if it's parallel to the x or y axis The center will be the midpoint of the two foci (so find the midpoint... use the midpoint formula if you need to).

Yeah, I really need this tutor.

blank xy axis |dw:1459819448383:dw|

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

let's plot (-6, 3) and (4, 3) |dw:1459819478916:dw|
