OpenStudy (princesssleelee):

The values in the table below were taken from the graph of a 3rd-degree polynomial function. x −3 −2 −1 0 2 P(x) 0 −20 0 30 0 Which of the following represents the equation of the polynomial function? P(x) = (x − 1)(x − 3)(x + 2) P(x) = −5(x + 1)(x + 3)(x − 2) P(x) = (x + 1)(x + 3)(x − 2) P(x) = 5(x + 1)(x + 3)(x − 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since P(x) is 0 at x=-3, 1, 2 must have P(x) = k(x+1)(x+3)(x-2) for some real number k. Plug in x=0 and find that P(0) = -6k = -30 so k=5 and the answer is D

OpenStudy (princesssleelee):

So my overall answer is going to be D?
