I can't seem to solve this using logs: Solve: x^(x-1) = (2^256)-1

You can't use logs to solve this question

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

At least not directly

OpenStudy (bobo-i-bo):

I don't think this will help, but it's interesting that: \[x^{x-1}=(2^{128}+1)(2^{128}-1)=(2^{128}+1)(2^{64}+1)(2^{64}-1)\] \[=...=\prod_{n=0}^{7}( 2^{ 2^n} + 1) \] :P
