OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

What is one of the solutions to the following system of equations? y^2 + x^2 = 53 y − x = 5

OpenStudy (chaosguardian14):

any answer choices or is it just substitution untill u find the other side of the equal sign

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

uh, i'm pretty sure i'm supposed to use substitution for this. i dunno how to do it though

OpenStudy (chaosguardian14):

umm... so im guessing it'll be just two numbers so the substitution for the variables must be the same ima try i few numbers but tell me what u think and i will try them also

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

i don't know. i thought there was a special way to solve it?

OpenStudy (chaosguardian14):

there might be but the only way i know is substitution lets see... when graphed the two lines intersect at (2,7) and (-7,-2) so, they might be the correct answers

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

okay. thank you.

OpenStudy (chaosguardian14):

https://www.desmos.com/calculator/z0qlyymqmq the link should show u the graph
