The general form of the equation of a circle is Ax2 + By2 + Cx + Dy + E = 0, where A = B 0. If the circle has a radius of 3 units and the center at (0, 4), which set of values of A, B, C, D, and E correspond to the circle?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

if the circle has a radius of 3 and is centred on (0,4) you can say that every (x,y) ordered pair on the circle satisfies this: \( (x - 0)^2 + (y - 4)^2 = 3^2\), using just Pythagoreas a massive clue!! expand that out and pattern match, maybe?

OpenStudy (mcfly47):

@IrishBoy123 Im sorry I had to go, can you help me with the rest of this question?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

expand that out!!

OpenStudy (mcfly47):

ok mate
