Today Muslims can get to Mecca by airplane, but in the past the journey was a much more difficult one. Why do you think this may have been (aside from the lack of vehicles)?

OpenStudy (helpkay):

is there answer you can choose for or do you have to write a paragraph

OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):

no its a critical thinking one @helpkay

OpenStudy (dyann.cardona):

it can be as short as two or three sentences

OpenStudy (4everaddicted2anime):

What about the far distance they had to travel to get to Mecca with only a limited amount of supplies?

OpenStudy (wach):

For many Muslims who lived in Yemen, hajj (the journey to Mecca) was difficult because the Arabian peninsula is basically a huge desert in its central portion. You might want to also consider that many Muslims couldn't afford to make such a journey because it meant they couldn't work or support their families for weeks and months.

THANK YOU!!! @wach
