Simplify 10(N + 3). 10N + 30 10N + 13 10N + 3

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

10*n +10*3 ......?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and how did you get that answer though..?

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

This is distributive property. You have to multiply everything in the inside by the number on the outside. 10 * n = 10N 10 * 3 = 30 10N + 30.

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

@RobertOK 10N +3 is not the answer. 10 is being multiplied by both N and 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and why?

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

Robert, the parentheses resembles multiplication.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10n+30 because 10 is being multiplied by everything in the parenthesis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay you're the dumb retrice@RobertOK because I remember doing it @FaiqRaees way but I forgot why

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

Like I said, it's distributive property and the number on the outside is being multiplied to everything on the inside.
