I need help with this question! XC

OpenStudy (thecalchater):

ok so if the sides are 8 what is the radius of the circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4

rebeccaxhawaii (rebeccaxhawaii):

calculate the square area first then find the semi circles area add them together then subtract the both semi circle areas from the square to get shaded area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was asking my teacher for help (she was no help) and she said I need to find the area of the Whole area, and then subtract the unshaded area

OpenStudy (thecalchater):

ok now do like rebecca said.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay well since its a square its A=bh , so A=(8)(8) since all sides are congruent so 64 is the square area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ummm then I can take C= pi * d , So C= 8 pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then I have 64 - 8pi is 38.9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh wait do I need to have 16 pi?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Help! idk which to do T^T

OpenStudy (mathmagician2201):

Hmm.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk .......I'll just figure it out myself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 13.7ft^2 as an answer ..so I'm gonna go with that
