I guess this a general question on writing for adults (and highschool students, I guess). We learned cursive in elementary school. Besides signing signatures, do any of y'all still write in cursive primarily?
yes I do all the time
Everyday! Cursive is essential, we sign our signatures in it, I really can't believe some schools aren't teaching it anymore.
I personally don't. I have always been a slow writer in general and I'm even slower in cursive, although I did write in cursive my 3rd grade year and a bit of my 5th. I just don't prefer it. However, studies have shown a possible correlation between using cursive and ability to comprehend material and remember it. Most practiced cursive writers also write much faster when they are not picking up the pen as often. Now this could be a load of malarkey but I think cursive should still be taught (and shorthand too but that's a different story :P). As a sidenote, I always found it easier to read people's bad handwriting after I had learned cursive. :D
I only use cursive for signatures.. I was only taught cursive for like 20 minutes in 3rd grade and then never again lol
@GracyGirl Right, I never learned it from Middle School and beyond (Well, atleast the continuation in the classroom)
@FortyTheRapper I think it is an essential skill, it is sad that schools don't think that anymore.
