OpenStudy (samanthagreer):

What is the value of x? Round your answer to the nearest tenth if necessary. http://prntscr.com/aomtcn

OpenStudy (samanthagreer):

@simplymarie_x

OpenStudy (samanthagreer):

so its 10^2+8^2=C^2

OpenStudy (samanthagreer):

is that formula right

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

It's be a^2 + 8^2 = 10^2. So a^2 + 64 = 100 then get 64 to the other side by subtraction. So you'd get 36. \[36 = c ^{2}\] \[\sqrt{36}\] \[\sqrt{36} = 6\]

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

x = 6

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

This will help you know where to place things ^~^

OpenStudy (samanthagreer):

ok thank you for explaining that but please next time dont work it all out at once so it in portians and involve the user in the working of the problem but thank you for your help

OpenStudy (simplymarie_x):

Sorry, my apologies.

OpenStudy (samanthagreer):
