Well if we take a second to try and understand what parallel structure is, then maybe answering this question would become a bit easier.
The basic idea of parallel structuring is to combine various patterns of words that would all agree in concordance with the subject.
Now, this is quite a tricky one, because if you examine all of the options....in some shape or form they all tend to agree with each other don't they?
If I personally had to eliminate one, it would be C....because it tends to expand first on the subject of playwriting and then it talks about what "he" went on to do next.
What he did next was different from playwriting. He wrote a novel known as an epic. This in a sense wouldn't really agree with what was originally said. It relates, but it doesn't. You see that right?
What is another option we could eliminate? Take a close look :)
