OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

Geometry need help ASAP

OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

OpenStudy (freckles):

hint CZ and CY are radi

OpenStudy (freckles):

oops that was given

OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

Im kinda in search of the answer instead of help, need to submit this in the next hour or two

OpenStudy (freckles):

oh ok i will go away then good luck :)

OpenStudy (instagrammodel):

Wouldn't you do 5.6 divided by 2? because you want HALF

OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

not neccecarily because xy is not half of wz i dont think

OpenStudy (freckles):

are you sure you don't want help? I will be willing to help but not just give the answer

OpenStudy (freckles):

@InstagramModel is right though those markers right there symbolize that one line segment is congruent to that other line segment

OpenStudy (freckles):

you could use the Pythagorean theorem after that to find CX

OpenStudy (freckles):

and then use the bit about the radius part I was hinting at earlier

OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

i used a ruler and it is the same

OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

but can i just tell my teacher half of wz is the same of xy xD

OpenStudy (freckles):

what?

OpenStudy (freckles):

how did you get that ?

OpenStudy (freckles):

WX is equal to XZ because the picture says so but how did you get that this was equal to XY ?

OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

i meen wx

OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

my brain isnt working right today

OpenStudy (freckles):

WZ=WX+XZ and WX=XZ because those markers going through the line segments symbolize those two line segments are equal WZ=WX+WX (by replacing XZ with WX since XZ=WX) WZ=2WX now you were given WZ just solve for WX and you will have the value for XZ also

OpenStudy (freckles):

Then use the Pythagorean theorem to find CX

OpenStudy (freckles):

and let me know what you have when you get to that point or ask any questions if you can't get to that point and I can try to lead you there

OpenStudy (shaik0124):

from the data we know that cy is 3.5cm and xz is 2.8 now apply pytho theorem to find out cx once u get cx subtract it from 3.5cm u will get xy

OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

okey

OpenStudy (shaik0124):

u know pyth theorem right?

OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

whats the pythagorean theorum?

OpenStudy (shaik0124):

cx is 2.1 3.5-2.1=1.4 is xy

OpenStudy (shaik0124):

from the fig if u apply py theorem it will be (cx )^2+(2.8)^2=(3.5)^2

OpenStudy (freckles):

if you have a right triangle (which we do) then leg^2+(other leg)^2=hyp^2

OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

ok

OpenStudy (freckles):

ok I don't think he is going to learn anything from getting just the answer :p

OpenStudy (deerhunter15):

i dont plan on using this ever in my life :/ not like im gunna fly a plane or do measurements for what i want to do
