How to make the divide sign! I realize this isn't a question, but a tutorial for everyone that uses / instead of ÷
All you have to do is hold alt while pushing 2, 4, and 6. Only on the numeric keyboard on the side. If you use a laptop.
÷
Wow, thanks I'll write that down. ÷ - I never knew that which is why I kept using "/" for dividing.
¬ ... umm im not getting a dividing sign
÷
┌ ... man im getting some weird symbols but not a dividing sign . how come it dosent work for me :(
Are you using the side keyboard on a laptop? @MysticFury

Ladies and Gentlemen, you are now looking at the most effective tutorial on OpenStudy
@numbrain yeah my favorites are Alt and 3 ♥ and Alt and 1☺
Not working for me? On laptop. Using side numbers.
Make sure you click number lock (num lock) and be sure it shows it is locked.
the "Equation" box has buttons for ÷ . Press on it, you will see that the LaTeX \(\LaTeX\) command for it is \[\LARGE\mbox{\div }\to \,\div\]. For other symbols, there's http://tug.ctan.org/info/symbols/comprehensive/symbols-a4.pdf .
