A candy bar box is in the shape of a triangular prism. The volume of the box is 2,400 cubic centimeters.

OpenStudy (thedumb1):

OpenStudy (jameshorton):

The volume of a triangular prism is the "area of a triangle" times the "thickness." The area of a triangle is (base times height) over 2. V = ((b*h)/2)*T Given V = 2400 cu. cm, b = 16 cm, T = 20 cm, and h is unknown, h = (2V)/(bL) = (2*2400)/(16*20) = 15 cm

OpenStudy (thedumb1):

ok so is 12 the height??

OpenStudy (dani_rose):

Height is 15 :) Just like @jameshorton said above

OpenStudy (thedumb1):

oh ok thx @Dani_Rose

OpenStudy (dani_rose):

No problem :)
