OpenStudy (18jonea):

Why do you think Blowin’ in the Wind became an effective protest song for the Vietnam War?\ @qwertty123

OpenStudy (18jonea):

@wwhitlock

OpenStudy (18jonea):

@abbyselena2199

OpenStudy (18jonea):

@ILovePuppiesLol

OpenStudy (abbyselena2199):

I have no idea im sorry

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Because it's pleasantly vague but pointed at the same time. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20140411171827AAIDIGI

OpenStudy (18jonea):

Some how it has to be 6 sentences though

OpenStudy (18jonea):

@Qwertty123

OpenStudy (18jonea):

Why do you think Blowin’ in the Wind became an effective protest song for the Vietnam War So what would i use from that? @Qwertty123

OpenStudy (18jonea):

@ILovePuppiesLol

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

i don't even know the song lol

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Hmm...How does this song help protest? Sorry I am really busy right now.

OpenStudy (18jonea):

im not really sure @Qwertty123

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind. The answer is blowin' in the wind? Do you have the lyrics? If not, get the lyrics. Quote from that document to answer.

OpenStudy (18jonea):

i have the lyrics but i need to answer the question

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

ok, lets look for examples cannon balls seems to be a war thing. How does that line sound like an anti-war sentiment?

OpenStudy (18jonea):

it is saying like how many wars are there going to be before we realize the harm it brings

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

good. Now what about the people being free?

OpenStudy (18jonea):

they just want everyone to be free and have equal rights

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

you're getting it. The turn your head and don't see line is a little more subtle, but it's already got you thinking about the war. So the man is trying to ignore the war. Thoughts?

OpenStudy (18jonea):

im not really sure on that line

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

The same idea is in the line about seeing the sky. Dylan is showing that sometimes we don't want to see or hear the truth of a situation. War is a terrible thing. The way we can condone it is to forget the reality and think about patriotism or some other vague idea. What about hearing people cry?

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

Nice Idea @wwhitlock

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

idk this song but i been listening to it for the past 20 minutes and its really good

OpenStudy (18jonea):

seeing the pain and sadness that the people have

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

yup, and the too many people died line should be easy now that you've gone this far

OpenStudy (18jonea):

the war is causing harm to may people and families

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

I think you have enough for 6 sentences. YouTube has both Bob Dylan and Peter, Paul and Mary versions. You might want to listen to one or both before writing. It can give you a good perspective.
