This looks like a writing assignment. To compare now to a period of change and invention should be fairly simple. You should start be listing all of the things that are changing because of inventions and improvements to things in everyday life. Depending on your age, you may not realize how much has changed and how fast. People in their 20s and 30s even have experienced the change. People older than that have gone through bigger change in life styles. After you have a list of things, turn it into sentences. Then think about how those changes are good and bad. For instance, cell phones were not used by most people 10-15 years ago. Now everyone has one. There are great thing about phones but there are also problems. Nobody used to text and drive. Now that's a problem.
