OpenStudy (alystar):

What is an acid dissociation constant? When can it not be calculated?

OpenStudy (alystar):

I believe that it is a measurement of acid in a solution, but I am not sure about when it cannot be calculated.

OpenStudy (alystar):

@Cuanchi Could you clue me in?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

it's a measure of the ionization of the acid in solution i can't imagine why it wouldn't be able to be calculated though, maybe if it's too weak, you wont be able to quantify the ionization accurately.

OpenStudy (alystar):

Okay, that makes sense. @aaronq Thanks.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

no problem!
