Which of the following contains a transitive verb? A. The limping dog hurt its paw. B. The slumbering bear barely moved in its sleep. C. The feeling suspect clumsily tripped over a small waste basket. D. I am both surprised and pleased by the announcement of his candidacy. I think the answer is D.
@disneyvhs Well, firstly if we realize what a transitive verb is, then maybe answering the question would become a bit easier. A transitive verb is a verb that takes one or more objects, or known as the number of the objects that these verbs take. If we had to eliminate one, it would be the one that seemingly has no transitive verbs at all, and that would be A. It is merely stating something without saying the transitive. All of these options have verbs obviously, because a verb conveys an action, but how MANY actions are we conveying here. Maybe this will be of some help to you. :)
