The equation of line AB is (y−3) = 5 (x − 4). What is the slope of a line perpendicular to line AB? −5 5 negative 1 over 5 1 over 5

Are you sure you want to be known by "dontknowdontcare?" At this point, you should multiply out (y−3) = 5 (x − 4), and then solve for the slope of this, the original, line. Once you have that slope, we can obtain the slope of a perpendicular line from it.
sorry about my name I had no idea what to make it so I just made it that because I didn't know or care what my name was but how would you multiply that out?
Multiply out 5 (x − 4) ... using the Distributive Property of Multiplication. In other words, multiply the 'x' and the '4' by 5. Your result? Be certain to include the left side of the original equation as well.

if you add the 3 to both sides then you would have y= 5x-17? is that right?
\[\huge\rm y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\] point slope form where *m* is the slope. not saying that you shouldn't multiply.... that would be a good practice to rewrite equations in y-intercept form
