Determine whether the two functions are inverses. t(x) = 4 over x -1 and v(x) = x + 4 over x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So far I have t(x+4 over x) = 4 over x-1 + 4 over x. Stuck now on what to do!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the inverse, switch the X and Y and solve for Y.

I feel like I should be finding the common denominator but not sure if that is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope.

Ok so there can be a simple test for this If two function, f(x) and g(x), are inverses that means that g(f(x))=x and f(g(x))=x So you could input any number for x in either equation, chug out a number, then put that number in the other one, and you should get what you started with

Thanks so much! I worked it out that way and it worked!
