In △PQR, find the measure of ∡P. Triangle PQR where angle Q is a right angle. QR measures 33 point 8. PR measures 57 point 6. Measure of angle P is unknown. 30.4° 35.9° 59.6° 54.1° Question 2 (Multiple Choice Worth 4 points) (07.02 MC) Given the triangle below, which of the following is a correct statement? Right triangle ABC with AB measuring 5, AC measuring 6, and BC measuring 8. cot angle B equals 6 over 5 csc angle C equals 3 over 4 cot angle C equals 8 over 5 csc angle B equals 4 over 3 Question 3 (Multiple Choice Worth 4 points) (07.02 MC) In △JKL, solve for x. Triangle JKL where angle K is a right angle. KL measures 34. JL measures x. Angle J measures 27 degrees. 66.73 74.89 15.44 38.16 Question 4 (Multiple Choice Worth 4 points) (07.02 MC) Find the value of the cot 10° using your calculator. 0.176 5.671 0.648 1.542 Question 5 (Fill-In-The-Blank Worth 4 points) (07.02 MC) Use △DEF, shown below, to answer the question that follows: Triangle DEF where angle E is a right angle. DE measures x. DF measures 55. Angle F measures 49 degrees. What is the value of x rounded to the nearest hundredth? Type the numeric answer only in the box below. Answer for Blank 1:

I only got 1 and 2 but i was very confused on those and not very sure of my answers

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

@ScarlettFarra2000 @anthonyym can you help

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

I honestly have no idea how to calculate it but I guessed A is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the value of the cot 10° using your calculator. 0.176 5.671 0.648 1.542 http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=cot%2810%29

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Thank you @satellite73 ! can you help on anymore please

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Ok the triangle for question 1:|dw:1460421353783:dw| Now you have the opposite angle as well as the hypotenuse, so which trig function would you use?

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Honestly, I dont know

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Sorry meant opposite side

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

SOHCAHTOA Sine = Opposite/Hypotenuse Cosine = Adjacent/Hypotenuse Tangent = Opposite/Adjacent

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

So Sine?

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Yes that's right. |dw:1460421562426:dw|

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

So syou know sine of an angle = Opposite/Hypotenuse Sin P = 33.8/57.6 Understand so far?

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Kind of

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

The side Opposite to angle P is 33.8, and the hypotenuse (side opposite to the right angle and longest side) is 57.6.

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Adjacent would be different just to let you know, it's the side right next to the angle (that's not the hypotenuse)|dw:1460421870382:dw|

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Do you still have questions?

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

yes, is the answer A ?

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

No, A is not the answer. After you get Sin P = 33.8/57.6, you take the inverse/arcsine Sin^-1 (33.8/57.6) = P You can type Sin^-1 (33.8/57.6) into the calculator

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

i got .627018?

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Yes that's the answer in radians, but the answer choices are in degrees. Make sure the calculator is in degree mode.

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

35.93?

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Correct

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

can you help with any more?

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Yes I could but I'll be quick because I have stuff to do.

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Are you in trig/precalc by the way?

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Okay I need help with 2,3, and 5 if that isnt too much but no I'm only in 8th grade soz

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Oh wow ok I'm only introduced to csc, sec, and cot as sophomore 10th grade, but it's not hard at all and the same as SOHCAHTOA

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Yeah, this is really really difficult for me oops I just don't get it tbh

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Triangle for #2: |dw:1460422697394:dw|

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Do you know what csc, sec, and cot are?

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

I know cot is cotanget but thats about it

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Ok, csc is cosecant, the reciprical of sine, that means instead of Opposite/Hypotenuse, it's Hypotenuse/Opposite (you switch numerator and denominator for recipricals).

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Secant (sec) is the reciprical of cosine, instead of adjacent/hypotenuse it's hypotenuse/adjacent Cotangent (cot) is reciprical of tangent, instead of opposite/adjacent it's adjacent/opposite

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Just to summarize: csc = H/O sec = H/A cot = O/A

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

Okay that all makes sense

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

So now you can apply that to the question.

OpenStudy (dontknowdontcare):

A seems true

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

First option: cot angle B equals 6 over 5 |dw:1460423217623:dw|
