Full Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2 Josh’s P.O.V. “Shoot!” I yell when I wake up and look at my clock. I’m two hours late on my first day of senior year. Inwardly I’m thinking *way to make a good impression on your new teachers Josh* I slept in last night’s clothes but I don’t have time to change into my carefully picked outfit. Grabbing my bag I curse under my breath. “Where the hell are my keys?” I wonder out loud. Finding them on my desk I run outside and get into my car and make a way to the school. [ring ring ring] I hit the button on my Bluetooth phone. [Joshua? Where the hell are you? I just got a call saying you have not arrived at school. You should be at school by now!] Recognizing my mothers voice I decide on replying to my Bluetooth speaker and saying, “Driving ma. Call you back.” Then I promptly end the call. Great. Now I have to think of a good excuse to my mother. Driving down the hill I go slowly so I can think of a good excuse before I have to talk to my mother. All of a sudden I see a car driving down a road perpendicular to the one I am driving on. Inside I’m thinking *It will slow down though right? It my right of way. They will slow down. Right? * I realize that they haven’t slowed down at all but it is already too late. All I hear is the crunch of metal and searing pain, and I blackout. 😈😈😈 My hands are on my ears from the loud noises. Where the hell is that beeping coming from? Is my face bleeding? My hands go toward my face, but my hands are numb so I can’t feel a thing. I attempt to open my eyes to see if there is any blood on my hands, but there is smoke everywhere. Smoke. Right. Attempt to open a door or window. My door won’t open, so I reach across and open the opposite door. *pellet* I think. The beeping is still going off and I realize that the beeping is from my car. I punch the steering wheel and it stops. I register what happened. I was driving down the road. Someone t-boned me and I spun. I hit another car as I spun. I must’ve hit the window because my head is bleeding. I grab my insurance. pellet. My rates are going to go through the roof. I climb out through the passenger car door. And everything hurts. My hip starts shooting pain and I can’t stand up anymore. I look for the car that hit my but I don’t see it, so I hobble/crawl over to the car that I hit. “Are you okay?” I ask with genuine concern. “No.” “Do you need immediate medical attention?” I ask. “My legs are stuck.” She says, “But I will live.” “Okay,” I reply. “I’m going to go call the police and see what I can do. You call your husband I will deal with the rest.” She nods and I go back to my car and try to find my phone and my glasses. I find my glasses relatively quick and find my phone shortly after that. “Here goes,” I say and I dial 911. 😈😈😈 Everyone lived at least. The doctor says to me. *Say that to my non-working legs doctor* But I remind myself that this is only temporary. That I will walk again. The nerves in my hips are damages causing me a great deal of pain anytime I try to walk. The lady in the car that I hit…not so lucky. One of her legs had to be removed. My mother walks in and I see the tear stains all over her face and I give her a big hug. “I love you, Mom.” I said, “I really do.” 😈😈😈
