http://prntscr.com/arj7ol I'm having trouble understanding a few of the steps in the picture.
I can try to assist you if you'd like
Of course! Thanks a bunch! Give me a second to write what's confusing me.
In the book we have, all the numbers were squared first. http://prntscr.com/aris5u We added the two numbers on the right first before subtracting them from the left side. So, what the individual in the original post is doing is confusing me. Why did he take away 6.7 and 7.1 before they were squared? Also, wouldn't that yield a positive number when combined with 4.4 squared? Next, we are we dividing -2(6.7)(7.1)? Why not multiply everything and then add what we multiplied to the left side when we were done to get Cos V? @AliAmpora
ok, well, im'm assuming this is two questions
Yep. : )
showing you how and why to do this would be so much easier if i could draw it out, but i'll do my best with this and add attachments if needed...
Alright! You can draw it by the way. There is a draw button right under where you type. : )
I just saw that XD Thank you
ok, so
My mother will also help if possible
Haha, great!
|dw:1460502364964:dw| so this is the problem, correct?
Yep
let me find the whole equation out and ill get back to you XD
Ok, so seeing as how my mother is not good at this im gonna go off a limb and use the magical powers of math and deduction.
Alright! Haha. By the way, http://prntscr.com/arjg72 (just an example not actually part of the problem) My first question revolves around the simplification process. I understand why take away -117 from both sides, but I'm not understanding why we aren't adding -108 to both sides. That's fine HAHA.
You don't have to work it all out if you don't want to if you can just explain that step, but whatever is easier for you. : )
Well, two steps. One why we aren't adding to both sides, and two why we divide instead of just adding the number to both sides.
to be honest, i suck at math, and this is probably gonna end up helping both of us, im good with doing, but showing work makes it a pain :/
holy shiz i reread what i was about to type and it would've confused you even more4...
Haha. It's alright. I'll wait. : )
@Mehek14 please help XD
i dont want to confuse you @Kikuo
i understand it, but my mind works on a different algorithm that would make no sense so i am in other words completely useless
It's fine haha!
If you ever need help on like vocabulary or Hitler, Ancient Egypt, or music, i can make it understandable though Xd
Don't take my knowledge on those things badly, i just find them interesting, and have both positive and negative views on them all. Well, those things and animal science... sorry, my good knowledge is limited to random things
I can solve things pretty easily, but that's about it
@AliAmpora http://prntscr.com/arjory I've put this into my calculator ten times, and I keep getting the wrong answer. What am I doing wrong?
I'm doing 216^2+60.5^2-60.5x216x2xcos34
I keep getting 0.82903757 And this is before I take the square root It's supposed to be a² = 28648 ft²
i don't trust math, but...
first of all, i totaly dont remember what Cos means
and is that just an example? Am i still attempting to explain the first question?
No haha. We will let someone else do that. I just want to know what I'm doing wrong with my calculator.
Someone else offered to help me, but I told him I'm going to make a new thread since this one was a bit messy. Thanks for trying!
no problem haha thamnks for reading my horrible grammar and random rambles
