How did the Industrial Revolution impact imperialism? The European population dropped drastically and they needed workers in the colonies. Industry improved Europe's economy so much that imperialism greatly decreased. Most industry leaders moved to small colonies to build factories and use cheap labor. European nations used up many of their natural resources, leading them to conquer other lands.
