Last year, Martina had $20,000 to invest. She invested some of it in an account that paid 7% simple interest per year, and she invested the rest in an account that paid 9% simple interest per year. After one year, she received a total of $1640 in interest. How much did she invest in each account? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
I have no clue. My brain isn't functioning. Gosh I feel horrible. Sorry. @Mehek14 @AloneS @imqwerty @Ms-Brains @inkyvoyd

AloneS: Yeah I really need help lol...I don't feel like getting these problems wrong again :/ I think I have one more after this one
Smh @AloneS X'D I amma let this one slide ;p....Horrible week for me...smh
Okay dear what was your first time answer you got?
Well I know the basics, I just need help setting up the problem so that I know I won't get the answer wrong.
So I know that it says, The previous year, Martina had 20,000 dollars to invest in.
Okay so yo just need thesteps?
Account 1's simple interest rate was 0.07% and Account 2's simple interest rate was 0.09%
Yeah pretty much. I just wanna make sure I don't get it wrong
Yalll got this handled. I'm off. xD
Lol ok Ms-Brains :)
AloneS: Also, the total amount is 1640 dollars.
aye brains what xP I'm confused now
Wait confused on what?
what brains said
Oh lol I think she was gonna help but then she saw u were helping me
@Ms-Brains Help here ;)
So who can help?
Alright I am here, give me 1 minute to read what this is
Ok thnx :)
*gives medal to brains*
The way I am seeing it is we need to make an equation and solve it.
ok yeah same I see that too
But my problem is how to put the problem together
Oh! Okay, do you have an choices to choose from, or just whatever way?
What do you mean?
The problem you are working on, do you have answer choices?
I guess I just need help solving it
Well its not multiple choice...but its asking How much did she invest in each account?
Give me 1 second to solve this. :)
Ok thanks :)
If I am solving this correctly she invested 1,400 in the first account, and 3,074 in the second account. That's just what I am thinking though, I haven't done problems like this in forever, so I'm not 100% sure. :)
Ok thank you so much!
:)
