OpenStudy (kj4uts):

Consider the following right triangle…

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

1. Find tan(P) round your answer to two decimal places. 2. Find sin(P) round your answer to two decimal places. 3. Find cos(P) round your answer to two decimal places.

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

@jim_thompson5910

Mehek (mehek14):

\(tan=\dfrac{oppoite}{adjacent}\) \(sin=\dfrac{opposite}{hypotenuse}\) \(cos=\dfrac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}\)

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

Like that? tan=12/16 sin=12/20 cos=16/12

Mehek (mehek14):

yup

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

So I just divide those and that gives me the P?

Mehek (mehek14):

yeah it will give u in decimal form

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

tan=12/16 = 0.75 sin=12/20 = 0.60 cos=16/12 = 1.33

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

What is P exactly? An angle...?

OpenStudy (owen3):

P is a placeholder for an angle, yes

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

Ok thank you :)

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

@owen3 does it look like I solved it right?

OpenStudy (owen3):

your cos is incorrect tan P=12/16 sin P=12/20 cos P=16/20

OpenStudy (kj4uts):

16/20=0.80
