How should I start an essay on stating a claim???

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Introduce the claim in the thesis paragraph. Then. details.

OpenStudy (blm1):

A claim is something like "Animal testing is not a good idea." Use this is the essay like.... Animal testing is not a good idea. It kills helpless animals who have nothing to harm others. ***This is an idea***

Thank you both! :)

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Yes, like @blm1 stated. Enter your thesis with a claim. As he used the example. THESIS: INTROUDUCTION STENTENCE (IN PARAGRAPH) OR INTROUDUCTION PARAGRAPH, (IN A ESSAY), which sums, or introduces the main point. In this case, your claim. First step: Conduct or adopt a claim, usually answered by yes or no, do you support this or not. However, it is entered in assorts of ways. Example: Dogs come from continuously breeding by artificial selection. That will be your claim, located in the thesis, since you will be mostly cover THAT specific claim. Second step: After you set your claim, you do supporting facts about it. Example: Artificial Selection occurs when factors are dictated by humans. Impacting the pheno/genotype. Although Artificial selection promotes a good chance of an offspring to adapt that specific genes, it still could be different, all we could is to establish a great prediction on what it would turn out to be. This process has been established by Charles Darwin, an evolutionist. (Don’t believe in evolution, just the best item I could think up of, and what is on my mind, is science.) Third step: That was your layout. Thesises for ALL the paragraphs if doing an essay. 1: INSERT THESIS, THEN SUPPORTING DETAILS: (Dogs come from continuously breeding by artificial selection.} THESIS. [Artificial Selection occurs when factors are dictated by humans; impacting the pheno/genotype.] (Although Artificial selection promotes a good chance of an offspring to adapt that specific genes, it still could be different, all we could is to establish a great prediction on what it would turn out to be.) -This process has been established by Charles Darwin, an evolutionist.- Dogs still undergo artificial selection today, hopefully discovering more adaptable, beneficial, breeds. 2: Sentences in { }: Is the thesis. Sentences in []: Will be the main topic of paragraph two, since it is the second sentence in the introduction paragraph. Sentences in (): Will be the main topic of paragraph three, since it is the third sentence. Sentence in - -: Will be the main topic of paragraph four. Sentence without any closements (i.e. brackets, or dashes.): Conclusion, the string that ties it up. That would be your layout. Shorter notes, enter the claim, support it with brief details. Later on, support it with more, specific, details and facts to prove that claim. Remember, the goal is to prove your claim, and maybe persuade.
