so let's look at social classes. In Japan at that time, the classes were known as: Emperor-The head honcho dude/lady Shogun- These guys were the big wigs that controled the military. think General Daimyo- These guys were the landowners that the Samurai had to protect. they had a good say in things Samurai- Warrior class. Think royal knighthood Nobles Ronin- These guys were samurai but did something to take away the merit of nobility. Peasants-The majority of the population. they were the farmers. Artisans-They made stuff. Blacksmiths, bakers, potters, etc Merchants- They sold stuff.
