OpenStudy (g33k):

A restaurant chain's owners are trying to decide if they want to open up a franchise in your town. To help decide, they want to find out how often people in your town go out to eat/ A researcher interviews people leaving local restaurants. Is there a bias in this sampling method? Explain

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

what are your thoughts?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

any ideas?

OpenStudy (g33k):

i think there might be, bias means against right? so someone might not want another restarurant

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

well, think of it this way. they want to know how OFTEN people eat out, right? so people who are already at restaurants are the type of people who tend to eat out more often. people who are not at restaurants are not represented. so the sample is biased
