How many variable terms are in the expression 3x exponent 3y + 5x exponent 2 − 4y + z + 9?

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

There are 4 variable terms in the expression 1. 3x3y 2. 5x2 3. -4y 4. z 9 is not counted because it is a regular ol' number :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i edited it because it was an exponent

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

It's the same thing :) A variable is a letter that represents a number value. Any term (a single number or a group of numbers) that contains a variable is a variable term :)
