ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

an armada of spaceships

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

armada means a group of warships sailing together

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

i know xD i got it

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

can you imagne a light year long warships

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

its length may be more than the diameter of the earth..

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

no i can't imagine it because i have no perception of how big that warship would have to be

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

a ship that can contain the entire population of the world, we need one of those for when the sun blows up in about 4 billion years

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

"1one light year" is the distance that light travels in one year

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

yeah i got that part too but that spaceship would have to be ginormous

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

i think they are group of small spaceships, not just one giant ship..

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

yes but they might be a group of giant ships

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

how do you know that earth will blow up ?

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

because the sun will swallow it

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

is sun like a balloon that somebody is pumping up to blow up in a billion years ha

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

no because its a star and stars will age xD

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

when they age, they indeed blow up to giant sizes before they die

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

yeah and then becomes a white dwarf

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

when they use up all of the core thing nitrogen i think

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

those spaceships can probably carry an entire galaxy

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you know a lot before becoming a white dwarf, they go through another phase called "red giant" if you're on earth and immune to sun radiation, then you will see the giant sun a few meters away from the earth!

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

670,616,629 mph is how far light goes, so lets say light goes 670 million miles in one hour and then we have a year xD

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

exactly

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

yup in a couple million years it'll be red giant

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

life span of a human is about 80 years so we got like a good like 800 thousand life times for this

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you can touch the red giant by jumping on your feet from a tall building

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

yes but we would be dead unless technology will have somehow evolved for us to be immune to that, which i don't doubt, because we have like a couple million years

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

i wouldn't doubt that we would be in another galaxy by then

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

intergalactic travel would probably be possible, i mean at first we didn't even know what rocks were probably, and now technology is evolving so much

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

earth will die far before the sun becomes a red giant we don't really need to wait a million years haha

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

yes but we can just go to another solar system or galaxy

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

yeah unless we can somehow prevent the earth's demise xD planting trees isn't gonna work

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yea there must be plenty of earth like planets out there if only our spacehips could travel at 90% the speed of light..

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

do you watch movies

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

absolutely not

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

i mean do you watch a lot of scifi movies

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

jk i watch movies xD, but not intergalactic ones

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

do u like scifi?

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

we will probably develop alot more technology for space in the next couple hundred years because that is like the next thing that we are interested in exploring,

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

i don't have a particular preference i watch all good movies

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

did u watch the revenant xD leonardo di caprio

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

nope i watched other two oscar movies ex machina and some other movie hows revenant ?

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

its so good xD this guy is sleeping in dead horses

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

i wanna live forever

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

im gonna watch it soon the other movie is mad max fury road. hbo has been playing mad max fury road for the past 4 months or so...

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

who doesn't wat will you do by living forever tho

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

oh i like alot of action movies like war/crime

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

i will explore as much of the galaxy as i can before it keeps FREAKIN EXPANDING

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

well i mean its still gonna expand but ill invent this super fast ship

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

if you could invent that super fast ship, you don't need to live forever just travel to whatever time in future you want in that ship

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

oh yeah, but ill need to live long enough to invent it

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

i don't think our knowledge of physics is complete enough for time travel

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

special relativity allows future travel we don't know whether past travel is possible yet

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

the mission impossible movies were so good

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

well has anyone tried future travel xD

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

we need spaceships that go at huge speeds to travel into future

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

oh yeah, like the one i will invent in about one thousand and oney one years

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

the problem is you can't come back to the past that you have left

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

oh dang

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

no because if i travel to the future and the future has past travel

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you will keep on going into future w/p any hope of returning back to ur original present

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

thats impossible, einstein asked this question : if past time travel were possible, where are all the time travellers ?

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

they chose not to reveal themselves

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

have u read that one series of books, like lemme check

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

why would you choose not to reveal if you are doctor who

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

Margaret Peterson Haddix

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

the series is called "the missing"

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

well in the books they have like tools that can make them invisible, etc

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

i recommend reading it xD

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

this https://www.goodreads.com/series/45802-the-missing ?

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

yup

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

OMG I HAVENT READ REDEEMED YET WHAT THE HECK

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

looks interesting, il keep this in my fav list

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

ye :) u could prob get them at library

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

its about children in history, basically famous children from history got taken by time travelers from the future to sell in the future and then they crash land in the present time and they like time travel and stuff its really good

OpenStudy (kainui):

Supposedly Godel found a solution to the Einstein field equations that allows time travel, but they are like possibly not physically real.

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

well we talk about this now, it'll be a different conversation in a couple thousand years, they will be like, todays field trip is riding dinosaurs! Everybody hop in!

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

well maybe more than couple thousnad

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

i don't think future physics will be too much different... im sure einsteins physics is not going to disappear...

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

we never know

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

I'm actualy a time traveler =)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

thats general relativity @Kainui ? einstein field equations... do they allow true time travel ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

define time travel

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

im in freshman taking honors biology and we are talking about these physics things, LEARNING TIME

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

http://www.iep.utm.edu/timetrav/

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

if you could travel a large interval of time in less time interval, then it is called future time travel

OpenStudy (kainui):

Time travel would be a closed path that starts at the point (t,x,y,z) and ends at (t,x,y,z) I think.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

looks Godel is talking about a rotating universe, unfortunately we are in a different universe ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

future time travel is going from (t, x, y, z) to (t', x, y, z) of earth's coordinates in less than t'-t of your time

OpenStudy (kainui):

I thought it was unknown whether or not we were in a rotating universe, but I don't know I first read about this maybe a year ago so beats me. It seems impractical anyways since you still experience aging, but this specifically involves travelling essentially to the past not to the future.

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

so if it takes me 15 minutes to get to walmart, but i get there in 14 minutes than i am time traveling

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

something like that, but walmart must experience 15 minutes while you experience only 14 minutes

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Oh interesting, can't wait to do general relativity... but i heard it is very hard and requires a lot of advanced math

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

i mean technically since nothing can travel faster than light, as they said, if we invent something that goes faster than we should be able to do that

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

i can't wait to do science thats not describing plants

OpenStudy (kainui):

I've not even studied special relativity, I've only studied tensors and the topology and manifold stuff. So I really don't know too much but I think since I sorta have the framework understood I will be able to figure it out faster than if I hadn't already studied this math.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

technically, if you start now, you can travel the entire universe going at less than light speed before you even reach a legal age to marry

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

whens the legal age to marry
