OpenStudy (joellearner):

LeBron james is 6'8 and a basketball hoop is 10 feet how high does LeBron have to jump to dunk it

OpenStudy (bishoppatton):

that depends on his wingspan

OpenStudy (bishoppatton):

and how tall he is if his arm is straight up

OpenStudy (joellearner):

yea

OpenStudy (bishoppatton):

no it means arm length

OpenStudy (bishoppatton):

wingspan is arm to arm length if you stretch your arms out

OpenStudy (liz_beauty45):

lol ok

OpenStudy (bishoppatton):

or you can call it armspan

OpenStudy (ciarán95):

If we're treating this as just a simple problem based on the figures in the question, then it would be 10 feet - 6'8 feet. But this is assuming that he has the ball 6'8 above the ground (i.e. just above the top of his head) before he jumps and dunks it. He probably wouldn't though, as he could use his arm span to reach the basket much easier.
