Take out the phrase, "lasting....". It waters down the impact. Especially if you move it to the front. If you must include that info in that sentence, change to "The Jewish holocaust of 1933 to 1945 was one of the most horrific events in world history."
Or, to build the drama of the sentence.
1933 began one of the most horrific events the world history, the Jewish Holocaust.
