A spherical fish bowl is half-filled with water. The center of the bowl is C, and the length of segment AB is 16 inches, as shown below. Use Twenty two over seven for pi. Which of the following can be used to calculate the volume of water inside the fish bowl? 1 over 24 over 322 over 7(82)(16) 1 over 24 over 322 over 7(83) 1 over 24 over 322 over 7(162)(8) 1 over 24 over 322 over 7(163)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Volume of a sphere, where r = radius \[V=\frac{ 4 }{ 3 }\pi r^3\] Plug in the numbers

OpenStudy (littlet):

the radius is 16 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16 is the diameter. Divide that by 2 to get the radius

OpenStudy (littlet):

ok.

OpenStudy (littlet):

V=4/3pi8 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, but use 8^3 to show the exponent. And they said they want you to use 22/7 for pi, so (4/3)(22/7)(8^3)

OpenStudy (littlet):

ok so i would divide what is in the parenthesis then multiply them up?

OpenStudy (littlet):

1.33 x 3.14 x 64=.. is this set up right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it's set up right, but it doesn't look like they want you to calculate, just set it up Can you put a screenshot of the options or use the draw/equation tool. It's kind of hard to tell what they are

OpenStudy (littlet):

Do you know how i would screen shot?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use your computer's "snipping tool" utility or the "prtscn" button. Then save the image. Then upload it using the "attach file" button on the website

OpenStudy (littlet):

wait so it would be B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure. Nothing I do gives me a 1/24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and they all have that

OpenStudy (littlet):

wait a minute.. why does it say 24.. B should be 1/2 (4/3) (22/7) (8^3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok then that's right.

OpenStudy (littlet):

Lol idk why it turned into that. THank you so much again!
