so you can writing 36 = h^2 + x^2 using Pythagoras theorem and using the theorem of altitude you can writing h^2 = (12-x)*x so than now just you need to solve for x and h this system of equation (12 -x)*x = h^2 h^2 +x^2 = 36 hope this will help you
