What does Kennedy mean by history being "the final judge of our deeds"?

OpenStudy (cecil_the_weasel):

>>>Alright, as a disclaimer, I have not studied this topic. However I can make a decent guess.<<< Think about how we view the World Wars, the Civil War, The Crusades, etc. We are taught the "bad guys" and the "good guys". We are can see when a "bad guy" or "good guy" acted in a way that helped or harmed. I believe Kennedy means that the decisions made by a nation will later in history be known as horrible (Japanese internment camps, the Holocaust, the Trail of Tears, etc.) and other events will be known as a great point (countries' independence days, the end of segregation, etc.). History judges deeds as good and bad. The actions of a country will be labelled as such in the future. Make sense? Sorry it was a bit rambley but I hope it helps.
