Ummm i'm not sure how to explain it. lol. Lemme say a DERIVED character is a modification of an already existing character.
To be clear, I know why the last one isn't correct. Not the rest. So, the first one is incorrect because it doesn't say that the derived characteristic only belong to mammals?

A shared character is one that two lineages have in common, and a derived character is one that evolved in the lineage leading up to a clade and that sets members of that clade apart from other individuals.
