RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

The function f(x)=3sin(x) contains which type of transformation or change to its parent graph? phase shift vertical shift horizontal stretch or change in period vertical stretch or change in amplitude

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Recall that the outer 3 helps determine the amplitude The larger the value, the larger the amplitude

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

VERTICAL?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

whoops caps. and i sent that at the same time as you did :P

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I also recommend comparing the graphs of y = 1*sin(x) y = 3*sin(x) using desmos

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it's not a vertical shift. That's what D does D = 0 in this case, so we have no vertical shift

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

i meant stretch not sift

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes vertical stretch is correct

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

COOL :) im semi smart at least ha
