ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

Can anyone give me advice on wether i should take ACT first or SAT? I am in freshman and an athlete, so I am just going for athletic scholarship, ACT looks easier? And also, could someone give me advice on which prep books i should buy, THERE ARE SO MANY

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

@mathmale

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I think your best source of advice on this would be the colleges and/or universities to which you might apply. I have not heard of the ACT being "easier" than the SAT. If you name a few SAT (or ACT) prep books, I might be able to take a look at them and give you an opinion, although not right away. Regardless of which book or books you buy, a commitment to spend a lot of time with it / themwould be the key to benefiting from it / them.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Never heard of anyone taking the SAT or ACT while in 9th grade. Might be overkill.

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

its fine, i naturally do weird things, i was thinking, for ACT review books like http://www.amazon.com/ACT-Prep-Black-Book-Strategies/dp/0692027912/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1460996840&sr=8-4&keywords=ACT+prep

OpenStudy (mathmale):

There used to be a Preliminary SAT (PSAT); you might want to look into that. I still think your very best bet at this point is to give your academic work plenty of diligent attention, in all subjects.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Don't forget to check out your local library system to see what they have in the way of test prep books.

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

yes i will actually check that @mathmale but like i need to get started now on studying for those because of my lack of self discipline when it comes to homework :( because for online school it is so easy to procrastinate, once i buy the book, i will be able to focus completely on that and my old self discipline will be back

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

so i think i will buy maybe one of those books, and i will check my local library, i will do the ACT before the SAT @mathmale thanks warren ;)

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Don't take the SAT/ACT until 11th grade, unless you're a real genius. But, start studying for it now. SAT and ACT are very similar, so whatever you study for one does partially help you in the other. SAT tests always come a week or two before the ACT tests. Take both of them, and send colleges the one where you did better on. :)

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

Im planning to take it sophomore year, i will start studying now, i am probably going to get athletic scholarship so i only need a decent grade on one of them @TheSmartOne

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

what do u think @Ashleyisakitty can u give me advice
