What would my independent variable, my dependent variable, and my constant be?

I planted two groups of plants. They were both the exact same expect that one group was to be sprayed with a pesticide every few days, then I compared to growth of the two groups to see if insecticide affected growth of a plant or not.

Dependant value is your plants height. Independent variable is whether you used pesticide or not. I have no idea about constant though.
