Whoever answers this correctly, I will fan and medal! What is the length of segment AB? A coordinate plane is shown. Point A is located at 0, 12, and point B is located at 5, 0. The two points are connected by a line segment. 10 12 13 15

If one side is 5 and another is 12, maybe Pythagorean Theorem?

OpenStudy (dboome):

Yeah, like Mr.Rapper says. If you draw a triangle between A, B, and the origin (the point 0,0 on the graph), you get a right triangle. Pythagoras found out the relationship between a right triangle's sides is \[C^2=A^2+B^2\]where C would be the line between A and B. In other words, the distance between the two points A and B would be given by \[C = \sqrt{A^2+B^2}\]What are the values of A and B? Well they're given to you in the problem. :)
