Which of the following best describes the equation below? y = 8x + 3 A. linear B. nonlinear C. neither linear nor nonlinear D. both linear and nonlinear

OpenStudy (goten77):

kinda hard to help without being to direct with an answer but I can say that if you know what each term means by definition that helps I will say that linear is were it basically has only basically a straight line which this one only is and im not sure if horizontal counts as linear and all the details *thats going into detail of other situations* but for now its just a diagonal line and that makes it linear.. linear is also were it basically doesnt have any curves or jumps or gaps and stuff just a solid line which continues no interruptions.. thats my best way to put it without sounding like a scholar and making it simple xD i may be wrong tho .. not sure it it could also be nonlinear at the same time and linear that kinda stuff may require research on the exact terms.. but for now id say its linear based off simple knowledge

@Daniellelovee

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

simply look the equation up on google and you will see your graph and then determine from there :)

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

don't complicate yourself since it is study island and it is online use google to your advantage :)

OpenStudy (narutoboy14):

ok @Daniellelovee

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

OpenStudy (narutoboy14):

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

yes you got it

OpenStudy (narutoboy14):

:)
