why it is a convention? if we choose negative charge then our electric lines around a charge will change its direction and would be a great change in field of electrostats

Convention is just a convention. We or you are no one to change that.Since earlier times,it has been in use so we need to kindly restrict ourself to that.
Further, please note that conventions are meant not to be deformed in any state .So you see how it is.Hope it helps.
