Fan and Medal! Please Help! Which of these statement best reflects Sulla's vision of how to rule Rome? "The Senate must be strengthened to strengthen the Republic." "The people must have more power to be more content." "Creating reforms is the job of the consults; dictators lead." "The plebeians are capable of governing themselves well."
What do you think it is?
I'm not positive, but I think C because he was a dictator.
I'm with you I think it C
From my lesson: Sulla (138 BCE - 78 BCE) Sulla was born into a poor but noble family. He wanted to gain honors and riches by serving in the military. In the military, he served under Gaius Marius, who got credit for many of Sulla's successes. In 87 BCE, Sulla was ordered to give his command to Marius. Instead, he gathered six of his legions together. They marched on Rome. Local gladiators were no match for Sulla's legions. Soon, Sulla had control of Rome. Once in control, he declared Marius and his allies enemies of the state. They fled Rome for Africa. Sulla restructured the city's politics and strengthened the Senate's power. Then he returned to his original military command. While he was out of Rome, Marius returned and seized control. In 82 BCE, Sulla marched on Rome a second time. This time, he declared himself dictator. He ordered Marius' soldiers to be killed. He rewarded his veterans and informants with land. Sulla made changes to the government of Rome. He wanted to bring it back in line with the old values. After this, he willingly left office. One year later, he died.
"This time, he declared himself dictator."
Yeah I'd go with C
It was wrong, but it doesn't say which one is right though. 😓
